Prohibited Items
The following restrictions apply to all events taking place at the Alexander Stadium during 2026.

Prohibited Items – illegal to possess
The following articles must not be brought within the stadium grounds:

  • Knives & blades

  • Fireworks

  • Smoke devices & Canisters

  • Pyrotechnics

  • Air Horns

  • Flares

  • Weapons

  • Dangerous or hazardous items

  • Illegal substances

  • Explosives or ammunition

  • Firearms

  • Any article that might be used as a weapon, be deemed as offensive or abusive and/or compromise public safety

Any person in possession of a prohibited item, will have the item confiscated and will be refused entry and reported to the police.

Restricted Items – legal to possess but not allowed within the stadium
The following articles must not be brought within the stadium grounds:

  • Unlicensed musical instruments: trumpets, drums, and other devices capable of causing a disturbance or nuisance, including vuvuzelas & megaphones

  • Flag poles greater than 1m in length

  • Laser devices

  • Glass Vessels (including Perfume bottles)

  • Please note, flasks, hard/soft plastic, and metal bottles (500ml or under) are fine to  bring into the stadium - these can be pre-filled, or empty and filled at one of our free refillable water stations located inside the stadium. Limited to one per person

  • Poles

  • Frisbees

  • Scooters

  • Skateboards or other skates

  • Signs or items with corporate or inappropriate branding

  • Unauthorised fliers & drones

  • Spray paint

  • Large industrial style ‘permanent’ marker pens

  • Large bodied cameras, professional cameras & recording devices with a lens larger  than 6 inches (this applies to cameras that have interchangeable lenses).
    o This does not apply to accredited media.

  • Selfie sticks

  • Illegal merchandise items

  • Unauthorised charity collection utensils

  • Motor bike helmets

  • Large umbrellas (small umbrellas are not permitted to be used in the stands if they obscure the view of other spectators)

  • Hampers and cold boxes

  • Alcohol

  • Food (a small amount of food ‘meal deal style’ is permitted for Athletic events). Medical exemptions apply

  • Animals (except service dogs & guide dogs)

  • Please note that bags/rucksacks larger than A3 are not permitted.
    o All bags must be able to fit under your seat and not cause an obstruction to other spectators. Carry-on style cases are not permitted.
    o All bags are subject to search upon entry.

  • Any national flag not of the competing international teams

  • Pushchairs and prams are permitted for Athletic events, but must be stored in the appropriate area for each stand.

Any person in possession of a restricted item, will be refused entry.

Third Party Events
Occasionally the stadium may be used for non-sporting events. The owners of these events  may have their own list of prohibited items, which override the list above. Such lists will be communicated direct to ticket holders.
